Cops: Knifepoint Robber Arrested In Huntington Station

Here are recent incidents reported in the Huntington area, according to Suffolk County Police.

Monday, Aug. 21

At 1:35 p.m., Dennis O’Connell, 27, of Massapequa, was charged with third-degree burglary after police say he entered Home Depot, located on New York Avenue in Huntington, took items off the shelf and attempted to return them for money.

At 9:41 p.m., police reported a robbery in which a man was approached by three men who punched him in the face and stole his cellphone and cash on West Hills Road in Huntington Station.

Friday, Aug. 25

At 10:37 p.m., police reported a robbery at BP Gas Station, located at 272 E. Jericho Turnpike in Huntington Station, in which William Slater, 30, of Huntington Station, entered the store, displayed a knife and demanded money from an employee. Slater left the store with cash proceeds and was arrested at his residence later that night at approximately 11:35 p.m., police say. He was charged with first-degree robbery and forcible theft/deadly weapon.
