Cops: Woman Falls For Phone Scam, Burglars Steal Cigars

Here are recent incidents reported in the Huntington area, according to Suffolk County Police.

Sunday, July 30

At 10 a.m., police reported burglary in which jewelry and cigars were stolen from a Lenox Road home in Huntington Station.

At 11:50 a.m., police reported a grand larceny incident on Shore Drive in Huntington Bay in which a woman fell for a phone scam. Police say the woman received a call that claimed her grandson was in legal trouble and needed money. The woman wired over money and then discovered her grandson was not in legal trouble.

At 1:30 p.m., police reported a theft at Family Dollar, located on New York Avenue in Huntington Station, in which merchandise was stolen.
