'Dreamgirl' Adopts Dream Dog From Huntington Shelter

This pup went from a high-kill shelter to living in luxury with her famous mom.

One of the original "Dreamgirls" recently adopted her dream dog from Little Shelter Animal Rescue & Adoption Center in Huntington.

Actress and activist Sheryl Lee Ralph made a guest appearance on New York Live on July 29 to promote her last performance as Madame Morrible in the Broadway hit show "Wicked."

At the same time, a small Maltese rescue dog named Prissy was making her television debut.

It was love at first sight for Ralph.

"Prissy was at risk in a high-kill shelter and Little Shelter pulled her to safety," Little Shelter Director David Ceely said.

Prissy, who is now named Zora, has already made herself right at home with Ralph's family, Little Shelter said. Ralph told Little Shelter that Zora is "quite amazing" while on a routine check up phone call. "She seems well trained and loves being with the family. We love her."

Little Shelter often appears on New York Live and NBC New York as a way to promote their available dogs for adoption. Ralph is just one of the many famous adopters Little Shelter has had over the years.
