Fallen Tree Causes Centerport Power Outage Christmas Morning
Firefighters had to use chainsaws to cut up and remove the tree.
A large tree fell down and struck electrical lines on Christmas morning, causing a power outage in the Centerport area, fire officials say.
The strong winds caused the tree to fall across Route 25A near Lone Oak Drive at about 11:05 a.m. The Centerport Fire Department responded and used chainsaws to cut up the tree to remove it off the roadway.
The tree was cleared with help from Centerport Deputy Chief Dr. Jack Geffken's compact bucket loader.
