HUNTINGTON, NY — Fleets Cove Beach in Huntington is closed to bathing. Suffolk County Department of Health flagged the Long Island Sound as having elevated bacteria levels on Friday.

As of Monday morning, the beach was still shuttered for swimming. Gold Star Battalion Beach in Huntington has also been closed since June 2.

The beach will reopen after repeated testing shows acceptable levels of bacteria. To check updates, use the Department of Health's interactive map.
