Sandcastle Contest
Tote those buckets and sculpt that sand: the town's second annual sandcastle contest gets underway at 4 p.m. at Crab Meadow Beach.

Tegan & Sara Raising Money
A national organization supporting gay issues is the beneficiary of a fundraiser at the Paramount. Twin performers Tegan & Sara will sing and take questions starting at 7 p.m., to raise money for the Human Rights Campaign.

Dancing at the Vanderbilt
There will be salsa-ing on the grounds of the Vanderbilt Museum in Centerport. The gates open at 6:30 p.m. 

Fundraiser for Gene Cook
The Friends of Eugene Cook are raising funds for the Republican candidate for town supervisor Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. Representatives of the Independence, Conservative and Republican parties are expected at the Oheka Castle event.
