Golden Dolphin Diner Shares 'New Management' Signs

The diner abruptly closed in late July for tax issues.

"Seized" signs posted to the front of the Golden Dolphin Diner were replaced with signs stating the establishment is under new management.

NYS Department of Taxation and Finance has approved the diner to reopen after it was seized for the owner owing more than $163,000 in sales tax debt, Newsday reports.

On Wednesday, July 26, the diner, located at 365 Main St., abruptly closed its windows and had "seized" signs posted to the front of the business.

The signs were put up by the state for nonpayment of taxes, according to The Long Islander.

At some point over the weekend, the "seized" signs were replaced with a sign that read "Under New Management. Welcome to the Golden Dolphin Diner."

Owner Theodore Calligeros would not say if he was planning on reopening the diner, according to Newsday.

Does this mean the restaurant is coming back to Huntington? According to Long Islander News, the restaurant will reopen under new ownership.

In 2015, the Golden Dolphin closed for a few months for renovations.
