Ugly Weather
Get ready for a day of rain, clouds and more rain. The National Weather Service forecast scattered showers and thunderstorms, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 3 p.m.
Girlfriends Day
Thursday's another one of those holidays you may never have heard of.  It's National Girlfriends Day, a time to join the  "nationwide celebration of the power of building connections." Saks Fifth Avenue at Walt Whitman Shops is offering specials. For the record, it's allegedly also National Raspberry Cream Pie Day.
Brown Rice on the Menu
The Brown Rice Family performs Thursday night on the Heckscher Park Chapin Rainbow Stage. The band specializes in World Roots Music,  encompassing jazz stylings, afrobeat, reggae, rock, Latin rhythms, hip-hop, and funk. 8:30 p.m.Â
Musical Theater at Whitman High School
Coming up later Thursday, we'll be telling you about the first ever Long Island Musical Theater Festival underway at Walt Whitman High School. The program lncludes performances of the Secret Garden on Friday and Saturday.Â
Journey to Plainview
If you enjoyed the bestseller "Wonder," head over to Plainview Thursday night where a theater group will perform a few scenes from the book as part of the Town of Oyster Bay's "One Town, One Book" project.
