Harborfields 2024-25 School Budget Passes Easily

See whether the Harborfields School District's budget passed this year.

HARBORFIELDS, NY — Residents within the boundaries of the Harborfields School District on Tuesday voted to pass the 2024-25 school budget by a margin of 1,227 yes votes to 279 no votes.

The district's budget is $99,764,898, up 3.64 percent from last year's. The tax levy is $73,955,220, up 2.44 percent.

Proposition 2, which authorizes the district to liquidate the 2015 Capital Reserve Fund to fund settlements in certain Child Victims Act cases, passed by a vote of 1,217 to 254.

For the Harborfields Board of Education’s three open seats, currently held by incumbents Susan Broderick, Eve Meltzer-Krief and Suzie Lustig (not seeking reelection), Broderick received 1,124 votes, Rachael Risinger received 1,053 votes, Meltzer-Krief received 1,044 votes, David Balistreri received 396 votes and Freda Manuel received 316 votes.

"The district thanks the community for voting," it wrote in a statement.
