HART Bus Adds Stops for Paumanack Village

The changes begin Jan. 12, officials say.

Changes are in store for the HART bus route serving the Paumanack Village apartment complex in Greenlawn, officials said.

The changes are designed to make it easier for residents to take advantage of the daily lunch at the Town of Huntington’s Village Green Senior Center and to take public transportation to the Walt Whitman Shops, according to officials.

Both changes begin Jan. 12 and affect HART’s H30 route. In the first change, a bus will make an 11:10 a.m. stop at the Paumanack Village I/II community center, providing direct service to the Senior Center via Pulaski and Greenlawn Roads. In the second change, a bus will leave the Senior Center at 1:09 p.m., providing direct service via Centerport and Pulaski Roads to the Paumanack Village I/II community center, and then continuing on to the Walt Whitman Shops.

“We are happy to be able to accommodate residents’ requests for this increased service,” Supervisor Frank Petrone said.

“We hope this will make it easier for the seniors who live at Paumanack to take advantage of our senior center and to visit one of the Town’s premier shopping destinations,” he added.
