
The Huntington Community First Aid Squad will host an Open House with a Narcan training seminar on Saturday, June 2.
The training for the opioid reversal drug will be held from noon to 1 p.m. while the Open House will last from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Huntington Community First Aid Squad headquarters is located at 2 Railroad St. in Huntington Station.
At the training, participants will learn how to recognize and prevent a fatal overdose. They will also receive a free emergency resuscitation kit that includes Narcan upon the training completion.

The presentation will be given by Dr. Gregson Pigott, EMS Medical Director and Clinical Director of the Opioid Overdose Prevention Program.
Seating is limited and pre-registration is required. To register, call Legislator William Spencer’s office at 631-854-4500. Spencer and the Suffolk County Department of Health Services have sponsored the training.

The Open House will also offer:
- Building and ambulance tours
- Teaching Hands Only CPR
- Providing blood pressure screenings, and membership information for HCFAS and Youth Squad
- A Suffolk County PD K-9 Unit will be on hand
- Information from AAA Traffic Safety on How to keep Your Child Safe in the Car
Visitors are asked to park in the commuter parking adjacent to the HCFAS headquarters building.
