Huntington FD Celebrates 175th Anniversary With Parade, Fair

The festivities take place Saturday, July 28.

The Huntington Fire Department will celebrate its 175th anniversary with a parade, live music and festivities for the kids on Saturday, July 28.

The event kicks off with a parade at 4 p.m. from Town Hall on Main Street and ending at fire headquarters at Leverich Place. There will be antique fire trucks including Huntington Fire Department’s original hand drawn pumper acquired in 1845.

The parade will also feature firefighters and EMS personnel from the various fire departments and rescue squads from the Town of Huntington and surrounding communities.

A gala fair follows the parade at the firehouse from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. The fair includes bouncey houses and slides for the kids, pony rides, a dunk tank and other activities.

The Little Wilson Band will offer live music and free refreshments will be served.
