Huntington Police Blotter: Man Struck In Face With Car Door

ALSO: A woman was scammed over a text message; and a catalytic converter was stolen, police say.

HUNTINGTON, NY — Curious about what's going on in your neighborhood? These are recent incidents reported in the Huntington area from Sept. 16 through Sept. 22.

The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • Sept. 17: Archie Midgett, 49, of Elwood, struck a man in the face with the driver's side door of a 2007 Chevy around 10 p.m. July 27 at 901 E. Jericho Turnpike, Huntington Station, police said. The man needed to go to Huntington Hospital, police said. Midgett was arrested and charged with second-degree assault: intent to cause physical injury with weapon/instrument.

Incidents

  • Sept. 19: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on Woodhull Road in Huntington at 4:20 p.m. A woman was scammed over text message, police said. The scammer told her there was an attempt to make a purchase with her card, police said.
  • Sept. 19: Auto-stripping (third-degree) and criminal mischief (third-degree) were reported on 25th Street in Huntington Station at 3 a.m. A catalytic converter was stolen off a vehicle between 10 p.m. Sept. 18 and 8 a.m. Sept. 19, police said.
  • Sept. 18: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on 11th Street in Huntington Station at 4 p.m. Someone paid a man cash for a rental agreement, but the man never returned with the lease or key, police said.
  • Sept. 17: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on Depot Road in Huntington Station at 10:37 a.m. Someone fraudulently cashed a check, police said.
