Huntington Station Man Possessed Child Pornography: Police

The man sent a 13-year-old girl gift cards in exchange for inappropriate videos of her, police say.

HUNTINGTON STATION, NY — A Huntington Station man was arrested in connection with possession of child pornography Thursday, Suffolk police said.

Suffolk detectives investigated Joseph Drago, 28, following tips from the New York State Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and Tampa Police Department, police said. Second Precinct officers helped execute a search warrant at Drago's Monaton Drive home, police said.

Drago, a tennis instructor, had child pornography on his cell phone as well as text messages with a 13-year-old girl from Colorado, police said. Drago sent images of gift cards in exchange for inappropriate videos of the girl, police said.

Drago was charged with promoting a sexual performance by a child (a class D Felony), and possessing a sexual performance by a child (a class E Felony).

Drago was held overnight at the Third Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Friday. The investigation is continuing.

"Detectives are asking anyone with additional information or if you believe you are a victim to call the Digital Forensics Unit at 631-852-6279," the department said.
