Little Shelter To Take Over Huntington Cat Shelter
The shelter will be open to the public seven days a week for extended hours starting in 2018.

The Little Shelter Animal Rescue and Adoption Center was chosen as the new managing organization for the Town of Huntington Cat Shelter.
Little Shelter will take over starting January 1. This decision was reached at a Huntington Town Hall meeting on Dec. 13 following a public hearing.
"We're very excited about this opportunity," David Ceely Executive Director of Little Shelter said. "We have big plans that will provide more benefits to the animals and people of Huntington."

Little Shelter says it wants to make the services of the facility, located at 104 Deposit Road in East Northport, more available to residents by being open to the public seven days a week for extended hours. This will help facilitate adoptions, Ceely said.
"All of the cats that will be rescued and placed up for adoption will be strictly rescued from Huntington Township," Ceely said. "Little Shelter is the first humane society in Suffolk, and we are very proud to be the organization that will represent Huntington."

Little Shelter plans to promote the cat shelter through creative events that brings the community together, raises funds, promotes adoptions and creates a culture where the animals of Huntington are a primary concern.
