'Low-Key' Vance And Vaughn: Huntington Adoptable Pets Of The Week
Vance and Vaughn, approximately 3-and-a-half months old, are timid but "will be so appreciative of having a warm, dry place to live."

HUNTINGTON, NY — Vance and Vaughn, approximately 3-and-a-half months old, are the Grateful Paw Cat Shelter's Huntington Pets of the Week.
The two "very shy" kittens were found in Franklin Square as part of a colony, said Debbi Larkin, president of the shelter.
"They were trapped with the intention of re-releasing them, but the trapper saw something in them that said they deserve a chance at a better life," Larkin said. "We told the trapper to bring them to us and we would take care of them. Unfortunately we do not have any other background information about them."

Vance and Vaughn are silky grey and white male kittens with yellow eyes.
"They have only been with us for about two weeks and they are still getting used to the 'inside'
surroundings," Larkin said. "They are usually found cuddling together in one of the many cubbies and will watch the rest of the kittens with curious looks. They can sometimes be seen playing together with one of the many toys in the room, stuffed mice, springs, crinkle balls, etc. If they are
feeling adventurous enough they will join in the chaos with the other kittens."

Vance and Vaughn have both tested negative for FELV and FIV, tested negative for parasites, had their ears and heart checked, received all but their last FVRCP vaccine, are litter box-trained and neutered.
"Since they are still timid they need some extra TLC," Larkin said. "You have to be patient with them and not move suddenly. If you approach them calmly and quietly they will definitely respond to you … they love head and chin scratches and will start purring and give you a quizzical look when you decide to stop."
If you are interested in meeting Vance and Vaughn, you may call the shelter at 631-757-4517, email cats@laphuntington.org, visit the Facebook page or visit at the Grateful Paw Cat Shelter.
The rescue is at 3 Verleye Ave., East Northport, and visiting hours are Tuesday through Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.
The shelter is also open from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday nights only for those who cannot make it during the daytime hours.
They will both be ready and available for adoption at the rescue's adoption event on Sunday.
"Vance and Vaughn will be a perfect pair of kittens for the family that is looking for some 'low-key' furbabies as compared to some others that are like the Energizer Bunny and never stop!" Larkin said. "These two boys will be so appreciative of having a warm, dry place to live with
plenty of food and toys and people that love them unconditionally."
