New Principal Appointed At Harborfields High School
Philip Farrelly, a "dynamic and collaborative educator," is set to assume the position in early November.

GREENLAWN, NY — Philip Farrelly was appointed the next principal of Harborfields High School, the school district announced.
Farrelly is set to assume the role on Nov. 4. He was approved by the Harborfields Board of Education at its meeting on Wednesday.
"Farrelly is a dynamic and collaborative educator who brings more than a decade of leadership
experience to Harborfields High School," the school district stated in a news release.

Farrelly currently serves as assistant principal of John F. Kennedy High School in the Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District, a role he has held since 2014. In his current position, Farrelly has implemented "many successful new programs and initiatives" and has been responsible for staff management, student support, and pedagogical development, according to the Harborfields School District.
"I am truly honored to join such a remarkable community committed to fostering learning and
growth as the new principal of Harborfields High School," Farrelly said in a news release. "I am eager to collaborate with the talented staff, dedicated students, and supportive families to enhance an inspiring environment that champions educational excellence and empowers every student to reach their full potential. Together, we will focus on embracing innovation and celebrating the achievements that reflect our commitment to excellence."

Farrelly earned his bachelor’s degree in history and education from Springfield College, a
master’s of education from the University of Massachusetts, a School Building Leader certification
from Baruch College, and a doctorate in administration and instructional leadership from St.
John’s University.
"We are very excited to welcome Dr. Philip Farrelly to the Harborfields family," said Dr. Rory Manning, superintendent of schools. "His extensive educational and leadership background will serve the students, staff, and families of Harborfields High School well as we continue to build on our culture of excellence."
Farrelly will fill the position currently held by interim principal Neil Lederer.
"I would be remiss if I did not publicly acknowledge and thank Mr. Lederer, for his steadfast leadership and support over the past few months," Manning said. "We are extremely grateful for his service to the students of Harborfields High School."
