Pedestrian Critically Injured in Huntington Station Crash

The pedestrian was airlifted to the hospital Saturday night.

HUNTINGTON STATION, NY – A man who was struck by an SUV in Huntington Station Saturday night is in critical condition, Suffolk Police said.

According to police, the man was crossing New York Avenue, just north of West 11th Street, when he was struck by a 1999 Honda CRV that traveling southbound on New York Avenue at about 9 p.m.

The man was transported via Suffolk County Police helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital with critical injuries. His identity is being withheld pending notification of kin. The driver of the Honda, Jose Rodriguez, 52, of Brooklyn, was not injured. No criminal charges have been filed.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
