SPCA Seeking Donations To Provide Care For Callie

Callie, the former dog of a Long Island diner owner, is so thin you can see every single one of her ribs, Nassau SPCA says.

The former dog of one of the owners of Golden Dolphin Diner in Huntington is now in the care of Nassau County SPCA after being starved and denied veterinary care, according to officials.

Peter T. Tsadlias, 46, of Laurel Hollow, was arrested on July 4 and charged with torturing or injuring animals and failure to provide sustenance.

The SPCA says Callie, a female yellow lab, is so thin you can see every single one of her ribs.

"Callie just wants to sit right by your side and get petted," the SPCA wrote on Callie's donation page. "Its so hard to understand why anyone could watch her suffer this way and how anyone could allow her to go on days without eating."

Callie has also been suffering from an ear infection for some time.

The SPCA asks anyone who can help to donate so Callie can receive the care she needs after a long time of neglect. Donate here.

Editor's note: Do not inquire Patch about how to adopt Callie. We recommend reaching out to Nassau SPCA directly if you want to give her the loving home she deserves. If you do adopt Callie, please let us know because my yellow lab would love to be friends with her<3
