St. Anthony's Football Team Wins CHSFL AAA Final

The win marks Long Island's first state high school championship.

HAMBURG, NY — St. Anthony's High School went into enemy territory to stun St. Francis of Buffalo and win the CHSFL AAA final by a score of 27-20 on Wednesday night. The win marked Long Island's first high school football state championship.

The South Huntington school trailed 20-0 at halftime before scoring 27 unanswered points in the final 13 minutes of the game, Newsday reported. QB Dante Torres ran a touchdown in to tie the game at 20, and kicker Griffin Goldstein kicked the extra point into 35-40 mph winds for the one-point lead, according to Newsday.
