LONG ISLAND, NY — Get your umbrellas ready, Long Island.

Two potent storms are expected to impact the Northeast this weekend, causing Long Island to experience heavy downpours.

The second storm may draw a "narrow plume of tropical moisture" that extends from the Caribbean Sea to the Northeast states, which will enhance rainfall rates.

As a result, Long Island can expect a 70 percent precipitation of rain before 2 p.m. Saturday. The showers will continue throughout the weekend, with an 80 percent chance on Sunday night and into Monday.

Although the first storm will be the weaker of the two in terms of atmospheric pressure that forecasters are focusing on for the Eastern states in the coming days, stiff winds along a portion of the coast will raise seas and surf, AccuWeather said.
