LONG ISLAND, NY —More farmers markets have popped up across Long Island in recent years. Summer is peak season to grab fresh produce and artisenal products. Here's our guide to the farmers markets nearby.

Babylon

The Babylon farmers market starts in May and runs until November 21. It's held every Sunday in the Long Island Rail Road parking lot at Railroad and North Carll Avenue, 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. There are vegetables, baked goods, pickles and more.

Islip

Islip has a long-standing farmers market held in Islip Town Hall's parking lot on Montauk Highway. The market is open on Saturdays from 7 a.m. until noon. Vendors sell Italian specialty pastas, dog treats, stuffed bread, flowers, honey and even oysters, mussels and clams from the Great South Bay. The market runs June 5 through November.

Sayville

Sayville's farmers market is located at the Islip Grange at 10 Broadway Ave. It runs every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fresh fish is available until it's sold out, along with beer from Bellport Brewing Company and a range of dairy, meat, coffee, desserts, produce and more.
