Islip Family Of 6 Loses Home, Dog, In Fire, Days Before Christmas
The family, which has four young children, lost most of their possessions.

ISLIP, NY — More than $40,000 has been donated towards an Islip family of six after their house and dog were lost in a devastating fire Tuesday.
Around 11:15 a.m., officials received a call of a fire at a Bertram Street home, the Islip Fire Department said.
All six members of Masciana family, including three young children and a 4-month-old, were not injured.

However, they lost their beloved dog, Morgan, and most of their possessions.
A GoFundMe was created to help the family.

Donations to help the family skyrocketed on Wednesday, starting with about $17,000 in the morning, to $42,300 in the evening.
All proceeds will go towards immediate needs such as clothing, food, temporary housing, replacing household items, school supplies and baby supplies.
"This amazing family lost their home, beloved companion, and everything they own five days before Christmas," the description said.
The fundraiser also asks others to donate clothes for family. Their sizes are: boy, 7 years old size small; boy 6 years old size x small; girl 2 years old size 3T; boy 4-months-old, size 6-9 months.
The adults are: women's size large clothing, size 8.5 shoes; men's size XL clothing, size 11 shoes.
Donations are accepted at Chonky Cookies, located at 646 N Wellwood Ave. in Lindenhurst, or Islip Cold Beer, located at 175 Grant Ave. in Islip.
