ISLIP, NY — A woman is dead after an Islip residence went ablaze on Friday, Suffolk County Police said.

Authorities received a call at about 8:09 a.m. regarding a fire at a Boston Avenue home.

An adult female was killed in the fire, police said. The cause of the fire appears non-criminal, but is currently under investigation.
