Motorcyclist Dies In Sunrise Highway Crash With Pickup Truck Tuesday Night: Police
He died at the scene, police say.
ISLIP, NY — A motorcyclist died in an Islip crash on Sunrise Highway Tuesday night, police said.
According to Suffolk County police, the crash took place in the eastbound lane of Sunrise Highway between Exits 45 and 46, at about 8:40 p.m.
A man was operating a 2007 Honda motorcycle when he steered into the center lane and struck the rear of a 2015 Ford F-250 pickup truck, police said.

The motorcyclist, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner, police said.
The driver of the Ford, a 63-year-old Bohemia man, was not injured, police said.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks, police said.
