LONG ISLAND, NY — Spring weather will continue to stay afloat, but Long Islanders should look out for dry conditions.
The National Weather Service announced a Special Weather Statement for Tuesday, as it will have an elevated potential for fire. Tuesday will be the week's hottest day, increasing in clouds but with a high of near 77 degrees.
Wind gusts upwards of 25 to 30 mph are also expected.

A 20 percent chance of showers is expected on Tuesday night, but Long Island will remain dry until at least Friday.

Tuesday: Increasing clouds, with a high near 77. Southwest wind 10 to 17 mph.
Tuesday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 55. Southwest wind 9 to 13 mph becoming northwest after midnight.
Wednesday: Partly sunny, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 66. North wind around 16 mph.
Wednesday Night: Clear, with a low around 45. North wind 9 to 13 mph.
Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 62.
Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 47.
Friday: Sunny, with a high near 64.
