Town Of Islip Will Observe 20th Anniversary Of 9/11 On Saturday

90 residents perished from Islip township on September 11, 2001. A ceremony is scheduled at Islip Veterans Memorial Park this weekend.

ISLIP, NY— To mark the 20th anniversary of the September 11th attacks, the Town of Islip is planning a memorial ceremony this Saturday.

90 residents including first responders died that day, and they will be remembered at the annual Islip Town Memorial Ceremony at Islip Veterans Memorial Park, 655 Main St. in Islip.

Local fire and police departments as well as town board members will be in attendance. The ceremony begins at 11 a.m.
