2013 New York Lizards Ballboy Tryouts

The New York Lizards Professional Outdoor Lacrosse Team's game day staff will be holding official open tryouts for candidates as Game Day Ballboys fror the 2013 season, on Saturday, April 20.    

The tryout session will be held from 9a.m. to 11a.m. at Eisenhower Park In East Meadow , adjacent to the parking lot.on Merrick Ave, just north of Hempstead Turnpike ( Meet in the picnic area near baseball field #1, near the south west corner of the park).     

2013 Ballboy Registration begins a half hour prior to the tryouts and there is no cost for any youth to tryout.        

Last year boys from all over Long Island, wishing to be considered for the position as a regular volunteer ball boy, showed up ready to compete in order to be considered for the position. The staff chose 8 regulars and 2 alternates. Tryouts will consist of some important skill drills as well as other tasks. Being a regular ball boy is hard work.

Boys that eventually get chosen,  get to spend some serious time with the Lizards' players, coaches and staff .throughout the season. Applicants must be under the age of 16, love lacrosse and should be accompanied by an adult. Please wear sneakers, no cleats.and bring your equipment! Tryouts are rain or shine!The ballboy applicant must be available for a majority of home practices (mainly in Nassau county) on the scheduled practice week night and also available for most -- if not all -- of the home games, which take place at James M. Shuart Stadium at Hofstra University and at Icahn stadium at Randall's Island, NY this season.
