BBBSLI to Host Second Annual Cruisin’ for Kids’ Sake Motorcycle Run

The second annual Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island (BBBSLI) Cruisin’ for Kids’ Sake Motorcycle Run will take place on Saturday September 21, at 10 a.m. with a rain date scheduled for Sunday September 22.

The seventy mile ride will begin at the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island office, located at 70 Acorn Lane in Levittown, and reach Bear Mountain State Park in Tomkins Cove, New York, next to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

The creators of this event include cycle enthusiasts Tom Slome, Rockville Centre resident, Chair of the Bankruptcy practice at Meyer, Suozzi, English & Klein, P.C and Secretary of the Board of Directors for BBBSLI as well as Jeff Schwartzberg, Roslyn resident, Senior Executive Director of Colliers International, Mayor of Roslyn Estates and BBBSLI Board Member and past Chairman.

 “This program allows participants to combine their commitment to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island, and the children who benefit from the outreach of concerned and caring volunteers, with their passion for motorcycling,” Slome said. 

Last year’s inaugural run raised over $5,000. Those interested in participating can register in advance online here or in person on the morning of the run beginning at 9:15am. The registration fee is $25.

Incorporated in 1977, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and shine.
