Motor Parkway Day at Old Bethpage Village Restoration

Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano today announced “Motor Parkway Day,” an exhibit of Model “A” and Model “T” cars from 1938 and earlier, will take place Saturday, June 30 at 10 a.m. at Old Bethpage Village Restoration.  Beginning at 11 a.m. the cars will ride through the Old Bethpage Fairgrounds to the Motor Parkway Bridge, adjacent to the Restoration organic farm. 

The Vanderbilt Motor Parkway was built in 1908 and was open until 1938.  The members of the LI Motor Parkway Association have spent the last six years clearing and restoring the Vanderbilt Motor Parkway Bridge.  Tomorrow will mark the first time in over 74 years that cars will drive over the
