Levittown BOE to Adopt 2013-14 Budget Wednesday Night

Special meeting to be held at 150 Abbey Lane at 7:30 p.m.

After months of planning and preparation, the Levittown Board of Education is expected to adopt the finalized 2013-14 budget at Wednesday night's meeting.

At the previous meeting, the board announced several changes to the proposed budget, eliminating plans for the purchase of four new school buses ($448,000) and generators for Division and MacArthur HS ($600,000). 

The proposed budget has come in at $195,590,207, an increase of 2.94 percent or $5,593,626 from 2012-13. The board will announce the tax levy amount Wednesday night. 

The meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. and is held at Levittown Memorial Education Center. A second budget hearing will be held on May 14, and the budget will go before voters on May 21.
