Levittown Students Graduate From Adelphi University

GARDEN CITY, NY — Adelphi University held its 126th commencement ceremonies to recognize graduates on May 23 at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum and awarded more than 1,700 undergraduate and graduate degrees.

"These degrees today seem different, more memorable," Adelphi President Christine M. Riordan, PhD, told the graduating class. "Our students' journeys have been full of plenty of challenges over the last couple of years — this class has been through a lot, but they've also done a lot. Your strength and determination has been admirable."

The May commencement was the first time in two years that the school was able to award degrees to its entire graduating class at once.

Among those getting degrees were the following students from Levittown:

• Anthony Johnston, majoring in History, Bachelor of Arts, Magna Cum Laude and other honors including the Phi Alpha Theta (History Honorary) and the Thucydides Award (History)
• Rachel Corwin, majoring in Psychology, Bachelor of Arts, with honors including the Deanss Award For Psychology, Departmental Honors, Psi Chi (Psych Honorary) and the Richard Klein Award for Academic Excellence
• Cassandra Fletcher, majoring in Psychology, Bachelor of Arts, Summa Cum Laude, Departmental Honors and Psi Chi (Psychology Honorary)
• Samantha Morales, majoring in Psychology, Bachelor of Arts
