NEARBY: New Eatery 'Dr. Munchies' to Open in East Meadow

The doctor is in. 

Dr. Munchies, a new restaurant located at 355 Newbridge Road, is set to open on Monday.

Husband and wife, Ivy and Jay Minsky, said that they are very excited to share their business with the East Meadow community. 

"All the food that we will serve will be fresh," Ivy Minsky said. "We will also have reasonable prices." 

The restaurant will serve an array of foods such as chili dogs, wings, burgers and macaroni and cheese.  

"We also plan to have a theme of Thanksgiving every Thursday with homemade foods like turkey, stuffing and the works," Jay Minsky said.

Ivy Minsky, who is president of the Parkway Elementary School PTA, said that she wants the eatery to be a local hangout spot--especially for the youth of East Meadow.  

"We have a great audio system and a bike rack outside so kids can ride up," she said. "This will be the place for the kids." 

The Minskys said that the business is eco-friendly and that they plan to coordinate events to raise funds for important causes and organizations.  

"It's very important to us that we give back," Ivy Minsky said.
