New Levittown Business Opens, BOE Meeting and Library Art Exhibit

  • Hair Industry Salon on Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown is now open for business! Check out the story here.  
  • Nassau County Police reported a gunpoint robbery spree in a number of nearby communities. The robbers struck twice in Hicksville, once in Plainview and once in Bethpage, police said. Police believe all the robberies are connected.      
  • The Levittown Board of Education holds a special meeting and planning session at 7:30 p.m. The board is expected to approve a final contract with BOCES, approve a summer transportation contract extension and approve the hire of a Police Science teacher at GC Tech. 
  • Accomplished artist Loman Eng was on hand at the Levittown Library on Tuesday for an artist’s reception. Eng’s oil paintings are on display at the library from July 1 to July 31. Patch had a lengthy discussion with Eng about his paintings, which are a fusion of Chinese and Western styles of art. Stay with us for the story!
  • Today is Lobster Night at Miller's Ale House of Levittown. Miller's offers 1 1/4 pound whole maine lobsters with cole slaw and a side for $12.95 steamed and $14.95 stuffed.
