Scottish Festival in Old Westbury; Tomato Contest

Here are some key events in and around Levittown this weekend: 

1. Long Island Scottish Festival at Old Westbury Gardens

Old Westbury Gardens is hosting for a full day of family and Scottish activities, complete with music, dance and bag pipes. The event begins at 8 a.m. and runs all day. See details here:  

2. Film Festival at Long Beach

Day 2 of the Long Beach International Film Festival is Friday beginning at 4 p.m. with a series of short independent films. Admission is free (a $5 donation is requested) to the event at the Long Beach Public Library. See details here.

3. Free "Cinderella" Performance in Ballet and Music

Lumiere Ballet presents a fully staged production of "Cinderella," including music from Rossini's opera by the same name ("La Cenerentolla") Friday and Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at the Tanner Park Bandshell on Baylawn Avenue, Copiague. For more information see their website here.

4. Tomato Contest in Jericho Sunday

Hicks Nursery's annual Tomato Contest will be held Sunday beginning at 10 a.m. at their stand on Jericho Turnpike in Westbury. Prizes will be awarded for heaviest tomato, largest circumference, most unusual and tiniest red tomato. Bring your entries; judging begins at 11 am. Details here.

5. Blood Drive at Levittown Baptist Church 

There will be a blood drive on Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the church, located at 50 Wolcott Road. The drive is hosted by the NY Blood Center. Please come out and donate! All donors will be entered for a chance to win two tickets to Super Bowl 48!
