Summit Lane Knocks Off Bullying With Rough Riders

Story by Liz Sobel.

In conjunction with the Levittown Education Against Destructive Decisions Week, members of the Long Island Rough Riders professional soccer team visited students at Summit Lane Elementary School in the Levittown School District.

The professional athletes demonstrated different situations to illustrate the various types of bullying, which included verbal insults, social exclusion, physical assault, teasing, lies and rumors, threats and cyberbullying.

They also provided ways to diffuse a bully and presented “power words” to stop it. After the presentation, the Rough Riders entertained the audience with some of their favorite athletic tricks.
