Two Incumbents, Newcomer File for Levittown School Board Race

First contested election since 2010 in Levittown; two incumbents running unopposed in Island Trees.

Three candidates have filed to run for two available board of education trustee seats in the Levittown School District, while two incumbents will run unopposed in Island Trees. 

Peg Marenghi and James Moran will seek re-election to the three-year term, while newcomer Peter Zirogiannis hopes to get elected to his first term.
 
This is the first contested election in Levittown since Marenghi and Moran ran three years ago in 2010, according to School Board President Michael Pappas.  

At the Island Trees School District, incumbents Barbara Medellin and Kristen Daum will be running unopposed.  

The budget vote and trustee elections for both Levittown and Island Trees Schools will take place on Tuesday, May 21.
