Both of Lindenhurst's little leagues have kicked off their 2011 seasons.

There are so many things to do and see in Lindenhurst, and every other Wednesday Lindenhurst Patch will highlight one idea or activity you could check out right here in your hometown.

Lindy Pride starts young, and could be felt when Lindenhurst little league baseball kicked off the season this past weekend.

Sunday morning the Lindenhurst American League kicked off with its parade that started at the Sears parking lot in North Lindenhurst. It headed down Spiegelhagen to the field at Babylon Town Hall, where opening ceremonies and festivities ensued.

Later the same day the Lindenhurst National Little League kicked off.

The opening day parade started in Lindenhurst Village Square – .

It worked its way up Wellwood Avenue to Edward F. Kienle field in Fireman’s Park where ceremonies, dedications, festivities and games followed.

Look for an upcoming look through the at both. But in the meantime, take the time to support the teams in both leagues.

Both offer major and minor teams, pee wee teams, instructional teams and farm teams. There are also girls softball teams. And for children living with disabilities Lindy American has the challenger division.

Take you and your family out to a ball game this weekend, and root, root, root for the home team.
