"The victim was not only targeted and stabbed, but his family was also allegedly targeted and threatened," Tierney said. "I urge anyone with information as to the accomplice to contact Crime Stoppers, the Suffolk County Police Department, or my office."
Prosecutors alleged that on Aug. 29, Funderburke and an accomplice approached the owner as he returned to the funeral home. Funderburke displayed a photo of the victim’s family and threatened them; the two began punching the victim and the accomplice stabbed him twice, the DA said.

Funderburke and his accomplice demanded money and stole property from the victim, prosecutors alleged.
On Dec. 18, at his arraignment on the indictment, Supreme Court Justice Timothy Mazzei ordered Funderburke held on $100,000 cash, $200,000 bond or $1 million partially secured bond.
Funderburke's next court date is Jan. 24. Patch reached out to his attorney, John Halverson, Esq., who said he had simply been indicted.
