Annual Fire Department Parade & Drill Set for Sat.
Local departments from the island will parade down Wellwood Avenue.
The annual Long Island Invitational Parade and Drill for local Fire Departments will take place this Saturday in Lindenhurst.
The parade kicks off the action, starting at Wellwood Avenue and Liberty Avenue marching all the teams to Hartford Street and to Fireman's Memorial Park starting at 9:30 a.m.
The annual drill attracts over 50 fire departments from all over Long Island to take part in contests of speed and accuracy. The annual drill tournament will get underway about a half hour after the parade ends at the Fireman's Park Pavilion.
Admission to the grandstand will be $6 for adults and $3 for children. No coolers or glass bottles will be allowed.
