April 15 Lindy Edition

What's happening includes a question, the tax man, sports games, charity events, an Easter egg hunt and spring break.

Lindenhurst schools’ spring recess is right around the corner, but not before the tax man cometh today, April 15. So, included in the list of things you need to know is where you can go to get some tax information and forms.

But that’s not all. Here’s today’s list:

1. If you still need to do your taxes or file an extension, check out the . Tax forms are available at its location at One Lee Avenue in the village. Or you can check out the LML website and find links to tax info and forms.

2. This is the last day before spring recess in the Lindenhurst School District. Schools will be closed April 18-22. Schools will be open April 25 due to snow days taken in January, according to the district.

3. There are a few happening today and this weekend. The team takes on East Islip at home , while the Boys Varsity Tennis team takes on Central Islip Then over the weekend the takes on North Babylon at home on , while the Boys Track team has

Tonight the spring dance at Our Lady of Perpetual Help (OLPH) School will take place for the sixth, seventh and eighth grades, and then on Saturday and Sunday, April 16-17, OLPH church will host the Christian Mothers Cake and Candy Sale which will feature home-made cakes and chocolate pops, as well as from . On Saturday it will be open at 5 p.m. On Sunday it will be open following all of the masses (for a schedule check the church’s website).

5. Also on Sunday, April 17, Babylon Citizens Council on the Arts (BACCA) will raise money for the Japan Red Cross with its event, Long Island Musicians for Japan Relief Benefit Concert. It runs from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the BACCA Performing Arts Center at 149 North Wellwood Avenue.

A $15 donation will allow you to see acts including Gene Casey, Cathy Kreger, Kerry Kearney, Bob Westcott and Sonny Meadows, Rough Folk, Ken Korb, Trio Angeline, Steve Adelson and Grand Folk Railroad. There will also be music, raffles and food. Check the BACCA website and the event’s Facebook page for further details.

6. Here's one more just for fun: The Lindenhurst Fire Department's Easter egg hunt will take place Saturday April 16 at Fireman's Park at 1 p.m. Bring the kids.
