Award Ceremony Honors Lindy's Athletes and Buddies
Student-athletes honored for their participation in the Empire State Games.
Student-athletes from throughout the Lindenhurst School District were honored at a special awards ceremony for participation in the Nassau County Empire State Games for the Physically Challenged.
The award ceremony honored those athletes who participated in the games, as well as their buddies who helped them train and prepare. Student-athletes were recognized individually and given well-deserved medals and ribbons. The buddies were given certificates of appreciation.
“The games and the award ceremony are special for these students and their buddies,” said middle school teacher and co-coordinator Courtney Whalley, who, along with Karen Parpounas, organized this year’s games and award ceremony.Information provided courtesy Carol Hauser/Syntax.
