Copiague School District Welcomes New Teachers
Copiague School District welcomed 24 new teachers to orientation to prepare them for the new school year.
COPIAGUE, NY — Two dozen new teachers were welcomed to the Copiague School District during their two-day orientation on August 26 and 27.
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kathleen Bannon, Copiague School District Board of Education First Vice President Brian J. Sales and Copiague School District’s Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources Todd J. Andrews welcomed the newest teachers and spoke about the community and culture of Copiague.
“Our students need us, and you will make a difference every single day,” Bannon said. “It is incumbent upon you to make that difference every day.”

During the two-day orientation, the teachers were introduced by their respective building principals, participated in various presentations about creating a learning environment for Copiague students and learned the importance of setting the stage for success.
“This orientation is a start to help you learn about Copiague and to ensure your success,” Sales said. “The only way our students are successful is if you are successful. Take full advantage of the next few days, ask questions and remember we are here throughout the entire year for resources, questions or help.”

Deauville Gardens East Elementary School Principal Joseph Buccello led a bus tour around Copiague for the teachers to familiarize themselves with the area and community.
At closing, teachers headed to their respective buildings to meet with colleagues.
