On Monday the U.S. House passed the deal that was reached between the president and congressional leaders Sunday night. On Tuesday the Senate will consider it a day before the deadline for the government to face possible .

If it passes the Senate and becomes law, then the ceiling will be raised up to $2.4 trillion.
The debt also calls for roughly $2.4 trillion in immediate spending cuts, plus the creation of a bi-partisan committee that’ll recommend further cuts.
