Driver Escapes Car Fire in North Lindenhurst

Car blaze consumes vehicles, but driver makes it out alive.

One driver is lucky to be alive after his vehicle caught fire over the July 4th holiday weekend in North Lindenhurst.

The driver, who had pulled over his 2002 Jaguar on Sunrise Highway in front of Mavis Discount Tire, told News 12 Long Island he had heard a funny noise coming from the engine.

The unidentified driver escaped the vehicle just in time as it burst into flames and consumed the car.

Lindenhurst and North Lindenhurst Fire Department crews responded to the scene to extinguish the blaze.

The driver left unscathed but the Jaguar was destroyed by the flames.
