Health Dept. Closes Two Suffolk Beaches

Sayville Beach and Tanner Park Beach in Copiague shut for high levels of bacteria.

Two local beaches have been by the Suffolk County Department of Health Services because of high levels of bacteria.

According to James L. Tomarken, commissioner of the Department of Health, the beaches closed are in Sayville and in . No other along the are at this time, according to information from the health department’s website.

It was not immediately known what factors caused a rise in the bacteria levels at the or when they would be re-opened.
