"The boy's father is a Lindenhurst [Fire Department] firefighter," said Bruce Mitchell, road captain for the Club. In his position he organizes Club fundraising events like this, along with other road trips.

Chosen Souls - which has been headquartered at 300 West Hoffman Avenue for the past decade - is a law-enforcement-based motorcycle club and charitable organization that's dedicated to safe motorcycle riding, as well as helping L.E., firefighters, military veterans and their families who might be in need.

It's comprised of approximately 20 members from around Long Island and New York City, and three members live in Lindenhurst, Mitchell said. That's how the Club learned of the boy's story.

"One of the members of the knows the family and the boy's father well, and we were looking to do something in the community, for a family in need. When we found out about him, we decided to help out and make this a good Christmas for him," said Mitchell.

He added that the Club is looking to do more events like this and seeking more ways to give back to the Lindenhurst community in the future.

"We want to be able to help out the community we've been in for the last 10 years," he said.

All are welcome to come in support of the benefit on , and anyone wishing to ride his or her motorcyle - or car - in support from the Club to the LFD firehouse on 39th Street should meet at the Club on West Hoffman at 10 a.m. Coffee will be served ahead of the brief, but important benefit ride.

"We're trying to get one of the fire trucks from the to ride along, as well. We're waiting on confirmation for that," Mitchell said.

Anyone wishing to join in this benefit are asked to bring along one or more toys suitable for a seven-year-old boy to donate. All of the toys will be brought to the firehouse and presented to the family there.
