TGIF, Lindy, and the hazy, hot and heat wave continues today, in fact prompting several state agencies to issue in the face of record temps forecast for today and through the weekend.

3. Ronald McDonald is coming Saturday to the North Lindenhurst on Sunrise Highway from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

6. According to the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1421’s calendar, the Higher Degrees Breakfast will take place Sunday in Huntington.

7. Space is also still available in the last two sessions of Lindenhurst Schools summer swim program, according to the district’s website. The cost for lessons is $35.00 per child; bring a check or money order payable to Lindenhurst Public Schools. Session Two started July 18 and runs through July 29. Session Three starts August 1 and runs through August 12. Class start times are 9 a.m., 9:45 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m.

8. St. Paul’s Reformed Church in nearby North Babylon has started a weekly Feeding Ministry on Fridays in July. The next one is tonight at The purpose of this ministry is to provide a meal for the hungry, and anyone in need of a meal is welcome. For more information e-mail or call the church at 631-661-5562.
