TGIF, Lindy! As temps are due to climb again this weekend, here are some to help you stay and healthy during the heat of summer. And be sure to check out of a South Shore beach.
Now, here’s what you need to know today and this weekend:

4. There’ll be a barbecue and food tasting at the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1421 at 12 p.m. on Saturday.
5. The Lindenhurst Fire Department’s Fire Drill Team will host and compete in the New York state championship tournament on ; start time is at 10 a.m. at Fireman’s Park. There’ll be about 20 teams from across Long Island.

7. A fundraiser will also take place Saturday in nearby Deer Park. Click for details.
8. The 2011-12 supply list and elementary school supply list are now available on the ’s website. The 2011-12 calendar is also available.
9. Space is also still available in the last session of Lindenhurst Schools summer swim program, according to the district’s website. The cost for lessons is $35.00 per child; bring a check or money order payable to Lindenhurst Public Schools. Session Three starts August 1 and runs through August 12. Class start times are 9 a.m., 9:45 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m.
