June 20 Lindy Edition: Graduation & Reading

It’s another manic Monday, with Grade Five Promotions continuing, and parents and students gearing up for not only the , but also for the big Class of 2011 graduation this Friday night.

Both graduations will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the LMS Field. And today the LMS Eighth Grade Picnic will take place.

The LHS graduation will be held for the very first time on a Friday, after being held on a Saturday morning for so long. Now let’s hope for no rain for any of the graduations – especially not any rain like Lindenhurst received Friday night.

How did you fare? The was busy checking out a lightning strike at the LMS, which yielded no fire or damage of any kind, according to Chief James Gallagher.

And the smoke at Albany Avenue elementary school, he said, turned out to be smoke from a barbecue some boy scouts were using for an event, Gallagher told Lindenhurst Patch. It had backed up into the school building, but everything was fine, he noted.

The LFD Rescue Squad also treated a young after being hit on Montauk Highway in front of McDonald’s Friday night. She was airlifted to SBMC.

4. There’s a Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1421 general meeting tonight at 8 p.m.

5. Tonight a school board meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at OLPH School.

6. A is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the Town of Babylon Annex Building.
